Sometimes I want to punch LIFE right in the face. Trying to catch up on everything this week after holiday festivities & screeners week, I have been sick a couple of days. 🤢 I am not sure why, but it seems like when you take a couple of days off, whether on purpose or not, it snowballs into so much more work than you expect. CREATE ART Circling back to this project that I didn’t get finished last year because, well, LIFE. I am lettering one today for myself and tomorrow one for a friend. After that I will distress & age both and pop one in the mail. I try to do something physical with my hands as often as possible. I have been a bit inactive the past few days and I will get back in loops and engagement as soon as I can. I am not sure how many of you know that I am a writer and during award season, seeing as many nominated movies I can helps me learn more about the craft! As a member of FI, I am a voter in the Spirit Awards. I am sent movies to view in order to make those decisions and I try to be respectful of the process & give it the time it deserves. This is movie week, y’all. I thought that I would be through my screeners faster but I am just now getting to them. Yesterday I watched six movies, today will probably be close to the same. If you are looking for a new film to go out to or get on digital, any of the Film Independent Spirit Award nominees (I will put a link in my bio!) would be worth your time but there are a few that I would say are exceptional so far so I am going to start a little list here! As I progress through the week, I will update the list so if you have a movies folder or want to make one, save this post! Weirdly, I am now realizing most of these are women driven, though that was not my intent when jotting this down. It is incredible that there are so many stories about love, loss, wealth disparity, envy and pain. With the world feeling like its on fire right now, these stories are being pushed forward. Hopefully they help others see the way the world works outside of their bubble. I feel like everyone could do with opening their minds a bit more and educating themselves. Since I had no choice but to be in Lake City for a specialist appointment yesterday, that means an Aldis run! Excited to see how much plant based food is available there. WHEW. I am positive there are a couple of things we DIDN’T get but this is most of it. I was also super happy to discover that their cheese is made with microbial rennet rather than animal rennet. YEAH!!! Everything is pretty tasty & I am looking forward to incorporating this stuff into meals this week. Have you tried the plant based products from Aldis yet?
